Hi, I’m Francesca
I am a calm and approachable BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist & Social Worker.
I provide a safe, non-judgemental space for you to open up - a space you do not have to edit yourself, put on a brave face or hold it all together.
I provide cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for various mental health difficulties. Some of the common problems I help with are:
Trauma-related difficulties
Low mood and depression
Stress and burnout
Low self-esteem
Anxiety
Women’s health-related difficulties (including fertility, perinatal, premenstrual and peri-/menopause)
I have a particular interest in supporting women during the perinatal period and understand perinatal mental health difficulties from both professional and personal experience.
I am also mum to a child with special educational needs and I am keen to support parents/caregivers, particularly those raising children with special educational or additional needs, as I genuinely understand the realities of that journey.
My professional journey
I started my journey over a decade ago as a volunteer mentor at a youth centre. I then worked as a support worker on psychiatric inpatient wards and in the community before qualifying as a social worker. I have 10+ years experience of working within various services in the mental health, adult and children’s social care sectors, with 8 of those years as a registered social worker. My experience as a social worker has deepened my understanding of trauma and attachment, and has provided me with invaluable knowledge and skills that I draw upon within my therapy. I am also a Practice Educator with experience of supervising student social workers.
My journey began from a passion to help people. Social work aligned with my values of providing holistic, person-centred, compassionate care without judgement. I bring these values to my role as a therapist where I am passionate about helping people navigate barriers that prevent them from moving forward. I have chosen to offer therapy through my private practice so I can deliver timely therapy that is individual to each person.
Outside of the therapy room
I am a mum of two beautiful daughters that keep me very busy! I enjoy keeping active by going to the gym (have been guilty of developing the Hyrox bug) or running. I have recently developed a bit of an obsession with hot yoga and pilates! I absolutely love reading and getting lost in a good book. And I enjoy going on spa days to relax and take some time out from the hustle and bustle of life and parenthood.
